Our Story

GK Rock Creek Sapphires, LLC is a Missoula, Montana based company where its roots began in Philipsburg, Montana, just miles from the renowned Rock Creek drainage in the Sapphire mountain range.

GK was a prior generation family member that called Philipsburg home while working as a millwright at the Anaconda Copper Manufacturing company and as a rock hound enthusiast.  GK mined and collected hundreds of sapphire of all sizes and colors in 1950’s through the 1980’s and also became a self-taught and highly skilled gem cutter.   Hundreds of rough stones have been passed on to the next generation to enjoy.  The current collection is too large to enjoy within the family so we decided to offer a segment to the public.  

Our stones have been heat treated in Montana, and with a few exceptions, are all cut by Montana facetors. If you don’t find what you are looking for in our cut inventory, please contact us with your needs and we will review our rough collection to see if we have acceptable options.  We are excited to share these beautiful sapphires for others to enjoy and cherish!
